‘Runaway bride’ Enola Holmes faces chaos as Sherlock vanishes in new sequel trailer

Millie Bobby Brown is back as Enola Holmes, and the newest trailer for Enola Holmes 3 teases a chaotic blend of romance, mystery, and danger as the young detective prepares for a wedding that quickly unravels into a life-or-death investigation.

The upcoming Netflix installment shows Enola standing at a crossroads as she prepares to marry Lord Tewkesbury (Louis Partridge). 

What begins as a long-awaited romantic milestone soon spirals into turmoil when she is forced to confront a new crisis involving her family.

The trailer opens with a dramatic sequence suggesting a runaway bride scenario, with Enola seen confronting danger on horseback while her groom waits at the altar. 

However, the situation is soon revealed to be far more complicated than it first appears.

As the footage unfolds, Enola reflects on her evolving personal life and growing uncertainty about marriage. 

“Can I love him without losing myself?” she wonders, as scenes highlight her attempt to balance love with her identity as a Holmes.

Earlier moments in the trailer show the couple’s relationship at its most joyful, including Tewkesbury’s proposal and Enola’s characteristic humor, as she quips about her fiancé’s first name in a lighthearted exchange.

But the tone shifts sharply when Enola learns that her famous brother, Sherlock Holmes, has gone missing. 

A mysterious horseman delivers the shocking news, pulling her away from her wedding day and into a new investigation.

The trailer escalates into a fast-paced sequence set to a reimagined version of Billy Idol’s White Wedding, turning Enola’s supposed celebration into a race against time as she is drawn into her most personal case yet.

According to the official synopsis, Enola travels to Malta, where her personal and professional worlds collide as she faces a case more complex and dangerous than anything she has encountered before.

Directed by Philip Barantini and written by Jack Thorne, the third installment continues the Netflix mystery-adventure franchise based on Nancy Springer’s The Enola Holmes Mysteries novels.

Alongside Brown, the film features returning cast members Henry Cavill as Sherlock Holmes, Helena Bonham Carter, Louis Partridge, Himesh Patel, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, and Susan Wokoma.

Enola Holmes 3 continues the story following the 2020 original film and its 2022 sequel, expanding Enola’s journey as both a detective and a young woman navigating independence, love, and legacy.

The film premieres on Netflix on July 1.
