Tom Holland gushes over Zendaya, calls her his 'home' in candid love confession
The actor described Zendaya as his 'best friend' and said he has never felt more supported in his life
Tom Holland has opened up about the strength of his relationship with Zendaya, revealing in a new interview that he has “never felt so supported and safe” in his life before confirming that the couple are now married.
The 30-year-old actor spoke on the cover of Esquire U.K., published Tuesday, June 16, where he reflected on the stability he and Zendaya, 29, have found together while navigating the pressures of global fame.
“Our business can present very stressful situations and it's really nice to have a bedrock of a relationship that will stand the test of time,” Holland said.
“We can support each other in ways that only we can, because only we understand really what it's like to live this life.”
He added that having a partner who shares the same industry experience has been a rare source of comfort.
“That is such a luxury, because I just don't understand how I would be able to have anything like that with anyone else,” he said.
Holland went on to describe Zendaya as his “best friend,” saying, “So, for me, I found my person. She's my best friend, and I'm the happiest I have ever been when I'm with her, but I also have never felt so supported and safe, ever. Period.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Holland confirmed that he and Zendaya have already held a wedding ceremony, putting months of speculation to rest following earlier claims that the couple had secretly married.
When asked about viral AI-generated images suggesting a Lake Como wedding and whether he had to inform family members, he replied, “No, because they were all there.”
He declined to offer further details, adding simply, “That's all you'll get on that.”
Holland and Zendaya first met on the set of Spider-Man: Homecoming in 2017 and went public with their relationship in 2021.
The pair became engaged in early 2025, according to earlier reports.
They recently made their first joint red carpet appearance in four years in Madrid on June 15, where they attended a promotional event for Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
Both also star in The Odyssey, with Zendaya playing Athena and Holland portraying Odysseus in the upcoming film slate.
Speaking separately on Amy Poehler’s Good Hang podcast earlier this month, Holland praised Zendaya’s range as an actor, calling her “fearless” and describing her as “the best actor going.”
“She’s just absolutely ten toes down… I think she has something special,” he said.
