Viu, iQIYI International announces a new bundled streaming subscription for viewers in Southeast Asia
Viu and iQIYI International are teaming up to offer a joint streaming subscription across Southeast Asia, marking a significant partnership between two of the region’s leading entertainment platforms.
The announcement was made at the APOS conference during the session titled Inside View: The Future of Streaming in Greater Southeast Asia, where Viu CEO Janice Lee and iQIYI International President Yang Xianghua unveiled the collaboration.
The bundled service is scheduled to launch in Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines and Malaysia during the second half of 2026. Financial details of the agreement were not disclosed.
Viu and iQIYI combine content libraries
The new subscription package will give viewers access to content from both platforms through a single offering.
Viu’s catalogue includes Korean and Chinese dramas, Southeast Asian productions, Viu Originals and its growing collection of short-form dramas. iQIYI International will contribute its library of Chinese dramas, local originals, anime series, variety shows and microdrama content.

From iQIYI International, subscribers will be able to watch titles including Pursuit of Jade, Speed and Love, Thai original Khemjira, Indonesian drama The Other Sister, Malay series Griya and Running Man Thailand. Upcoming releases such as Key to the Phoenix Heart and Overdo are also expected to be part of the offering.
Executives highlight shared strategy
Speaking at the event, Lee described the partnership as an opportunity to expand access to Asian entertainment across the region.
“It’s a great pleasure to announce the partnership with iQIYI, so as to make the best, most appealing Asian content in the coming year,” Lee said.
Yang said the agreement represents iQIYI International’s first cross-regional streaming alliance and noted that both companies share similar goals.
“We share the same goal and values,” Yang said.
He also highlighted the strength of iQIYI’s Thai original programming and pointed to the popularity of Chinese dramas in Thailand, which remains one of the platform’s fastest-growing international markets.
Focus on growing demand for Asian content
In a statement released alongside the announcement, Lee said the collaboration reflects growing consumer demand for Asian storytelling.
“Asian content is at the heart of what our audiences love, and our collaboration with iQIYI International puts that front and center,” she said. “Bringing two rich content offerings into a single bundle gives viewers across Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, and Malaysia deeper access to the best storytelling from across the region.”
Yang echoed that view, saying the combined libraries would provide audiences with greater variety.
“Having deeply cultivated Southeast Asian markets for years, iQIYI International has established a strong presence through our premium Chinese and local content,” he said. “By combining our highly complementary libraries into a unified subscription, we are offering local audience broader content choices.”
Bundle launch planned for late 2026
The new package will be available for direct purchase through both companies’ websites once it launches. The two services will continue to operate separately, with content availability, features and device compatibility varying by platform.
Further details, including pricing and subscription options, are expected to be announced closer to launch.
Viu, operated by PCCW Limited, currently serves audiences across Asia, the Middle East and South Africa. iQIYI International, the overseas arm of Chinese streaming giant iQIYI, is available in more than 190 territories and supports 13 languages worldwide.
