Emilie Kiser finally opened up about the death of her 3-year-old son, Trigg, in her first interview since the fatal drowning incident last year.

The Arizona-based influencer, 27, appeared on Jay Shetty’s On Purpose podcast on June 17, marking her first sit-down conversation since the tragedy. She has previously shared aspects of her grief journey with her large social media following.

“Life Can Change in an Instant”

During the interview, Emilie reflected on the life-changing impact of losing a child and the challenge of continuing to parent her younger son, Teddy, now 1.

“Losing a child really shows you in the scariest, most real way possible just how quickly life can change,” she said in a preview clip. “I have a choice to make… I can let this derail me or I can do everything in my power to be the best mom I possibly can.”

Details of the Incident

Trigg was hospitalised after falling into the family’s backyard pool on May 12, 2025. Emilie was not at home at the time of the incident. Her husband, Brady Kiser, was supervising their younger child when the accident occurred. Trigg died six days later on May 18.

Police later reviewed footage and said the child had been unsupervised in the backyard for several minutes before entering the water. An investigation into the incident was completed months later, with prosecutors ultimately deciding not to pursue charges against Brady Kiser, citing insufficient likelihood of conviction.

Grief, Parenting and Advocacy

Following the tragedy, Emilie has repeatedly used her platform to speak about grief, parenting and water safety, encouraging other families to take preventative measures around pools.

In recent months, she has also spoken about learning to live with loss rather than “moving on”, saying therapy helped her cope and focus on her surviving child.

The podcast appearance marks her most detailed reflection since the incident, as she continues navigating life after the loss of her son.
