Jelly Roll, Bunnie XO split: Shocking reason revealed

Jelly Roll and Bunnie XO’s divorce has reportedly been driven by growing tension between the country star’s public embrace of Christianity and his wife’s outspoken and provocative media presence.

The couple’s split, confirmed after Jelly Roll filed for divorce on 18 May following nearly a decade of marriage, has sparked widespread speculation about what led to the breakdown of their relationship.

A source told Daily Mail that the pair’s differing public identities had become increasingly difficult to reconcile, alleging that Jelly Roll’s stronger focus on faith clashed with Bunnie XO’s podcast content and past in adult entertainment.

“There is just such a conflict in what’s going on. He’s preaching this Christian way of life. She’s posing mostly naked and talking about porn and penises on her podcast,” the insider claimed, referencing Bunnie’s Dumb Blonde podcast.

The source also suggested that the situation had begun to affect their public image in Nashville, adding that it was “the talk of the town” and claiming ongoing tensions around how the couple presented themselves publicly.

Jelly Roll’s Faith Shift Under Scrutiny in Reported Split

Jelly Roll, 41, has become increasingly vocal about his faith in recent months. In February, during his Grammy acceptance speech for Best Contemporary Country Album, he emotionally referenced Jesus while also crediting Bunnie for helping change his life.

“First of all, Jesus, I hear you, and I’m listening, Lord. I am listening, Lord,” he said. “Second of all, I want to thank my beautiful wife. I would have never changed my life without you. I would have ended up dead or in jail.”

However, another source questioned the sincerity of his public religious shift, describing it as a strategic move tied to the Christian music market.

“He saw a lot of money in this market and told Bunnie to get it together. But she wouldn’t stay in line and it is destroying his brand,” the source alleged.

They further claimed that Bunnie XO, whose real name is Alisa Andrea Carter, has remained committed to her established identity and audience.

“She just wants to be what she is,” the insider said, adding that her background and podcast content continued to clash with Jelly Roll’s evolving public image as a faith-focused artist.

The couple married in a Las Vegas courthouse in August 2016, one year after they met at one of Jelly Roll’s concerts, later renewing their vows in 2023. Legal filings cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the separation.
