Hailee Steinfeld shares how she’s slowly returning to workouts after becoming a mom
The Sinners star is focusing on swimming and balanced workouts with help from her father
Hailee Steinfeld is opening up about her return to fitness after becoming a first-time mom, revealing that she has teamed up with her dad to help rebuild her workout routine.
The Sinners star, 29, shared that she is easing back into exercise following the April arrival of her first child with husband Josh Allen.
During a Substack Live session for her Beau Society newsletter, Steinfeld revealed that her father has stepped into the role of her trainer as she works toward her fitness goals.
“I am just starting to ramp up my workout routine, which I am so excited about,” she said. “I am back with my trainer aka Dad, who really likes to give me a run for my money.”
Steinfeld explained that she is being intentional about her approach and does not want to push herself too quickly.
Instead, she said she is focusing on rebuilding strength while paying attention to what her body needs.
“It’s all about a slow ramp-up right now, which I’m really appreciating,” she shared.
The actress admitted that she typically sets strict goals and timelines for herself, but she is learning to take a more flexible approach during this stage of life.
“I love a goal-oriented plan,” Steinfeld said, adding that she still values structure but wants to prioritize listening to her body.
As part of her fitness routine, Steinfeld said swimming will be a major focus, especially during the summer months.
“It’s summer! Get me in the water. I will swim some laps,” she said.
Steinfeld has also been embracing life as a newlywed and new mother. She recently reflected on celebrating her first wedding anniversary with Allen by revisiting memories from their wedding day.
The actress shared that the couple marked the occasion with a quiet evening at home, enjoying dinner together with their baby nearby before watching their wedding video and looking back at old photos from the beginning of their relationship.
Steinfeld and Allen began dating in 2023 and married in 2025. She said the anniversary celebration gave them a chance to reflect on how much their lives had changed in just one year.
