Meghan Trainor chops off her long locks and gets hilarious reaction from family
The singer showed off her new look just days after celebrating husband Daryl Sabara’s birthday
Meghan Trainor has officially entered a new hair era after debuting a dramatic new look that left her husband Daryl Sabara and their children with some unforgettable reactions.
The “Made You Look” singer revealed her freshly chopped hairstyle in an Instagram reel shared on June 18, showing off a shorter “mom bob” after saying goodbye to her signature long blonde locks.
In the video, Meghan walked toward Sabara with her new haircut partially hidden as she tucked her hair behind her ear.
The actor immediately noticed the transformation and appeared impressed.
“Wow,” Sabara said before adding, “I love it.”
The couple shared a sweet moment as they embraced, while Meghan laughed over the reaction. However, the singer’s children had a much different response when she introduced them to her new style.
Meghan asked her son Barry what looked different about her, but he initially struggled to figure it out.
“What’s different about mama? What did I change?” she asked.
“I don’t know,” Barry replied.
After a little prompting, he finally noticed the change.
“Ah, your hair,” he said.
“My hair! Do you like it?” Meghan responded before asking her other son Riley for his thoughts as well.
Meghan, who shares sons Riley, 5, and Barry, 5, along with daughter Mikey Moon, 5 months, with Sabara, joked about her family’s delayed reaction in the caption of her post.
“I got a mom bob and only @darylsabara noticed bahaha thank you @stylebymaciel I love it so much!” she wrote.
The transformation was created by Los Angeles-based celebrity hairstylist Anyssa Maciel, marking a major change from Meghan’s usual long blonde hairstyle.
The new look came shortly after Meghan celebrated Sabara’s 34th birthday with a themed family party.
In photos shared from the celebration, the singer was still wearing her longer hair and had not hinted that a major makeover was coming.
“34 looks good on you @darylsabara yesterday we had an erewhon themed bday party for their biggest fan lmao. Happy birthday to my best friend and the love of our lives!” Meghan wrote at the time.
