Kelly Osbourne shares heartfelt update on grief and life after Ozzy Osbourne’s death
The TV personality says she will 'never be the same' following her father’s passing in 2025
Kelly Osbourne has opened up about life after the death of her father, Ozzy Osbourne, saying she will “never be the person she was” following his passing and is still learning to adjust to a new version of herself.
The 41-year-old television personality spoke to Us Weekly about her ongoing grief, nearly a year after the Black Sabbath legend died in July 2025 at the age of 76, just weeks after his final performance.
“I’m getting a little bit better every day. The pain will never go away, and I’ll never be the person I was before he died again,” she said. “But I’m getting to know the new me.”
When asked to describe that “new” version of herself, Kelly admitted she is still in the process of understanding it, saying, “I’m still figuring it out.”
As Father’s Day approaches in the UK, she also revealed plans to mark the occasion privately with her brother Louis, saying they intend to do something meaningful to honour their father’s memory.
Kelly has continued to remember Ozzy Osbourne in personal and emotional ways since his passing, describing small rituals that have become part of her daily life.
“There’s so many things that we do that we always keep a seat at the table for him,” she told People.
“I light a candle every day. For him, I wear a locket… it has his picture in it, and my baby opens it every day and gives it a kiss and says hi to Papa.”
She also said she often feels connected to him through small moments, adding, “Every time I see the clock at 11:11, I know that’s him talking to me.”
In addition to private tributes, Kelly has also honoured her father publicly. Earlier this month, she attended Royal Ascot in Berkshire wearing a bat-shaped fascinator, a symbolic nod to one of the most infamous moments associated with Ozzy Osbourne’s career.
Ozzy became widely linked with bats after a 1982 incident in which he bit the head off a bat thrown onto stage during a performance, believing it was a toy.
Kelly’s appearance at the event drew attention for its subtle tribute, paired with a black ensemble.
She later shared a light-hearted moment on social media, posting a photo of her bare feet after the event with the caption, “If your shoes are glad to come off, you probably had a day worth remembering.”
