TV Chef Gordon Ramsay has shared his joy after learning he is set to become a grandfather for the first time. His daughter, Holly, and her Olympian husband, Adam Peaty, revealed on Saturday that they are expecting their first child.
The couple shared the news in a post on Instagram, first reported by The Sun. Holly and Adam revealed their baby, a girl, is due this December.
Ramsay's emotional message
Gordon, who has six children with his wife, Tana, described himself as a "very excited grandad" in a comment beneath the post. "Congratulations to you both sending lots of love Dad," he began.
He continued: "I'm going to be a very over excited Grandad especially this Christmas".
A close family bond
Gordon shares a close relationship with his middle daughter, Holly, and her Olympian husband. Alongside Holly, Gordon is also father to Megan, 28, Holly's twin Jack, Matilda, 24, Oscar, 7, and two-year-old Jesse.
While this will be the first child Holly and Adam have together, Adam is already a father to five-year-old son George, from his previous relationship with ex-girlfriend Eirianedd Munro.
Wedding held at Bath Abbey
Holly and Adam wed in a Bath Abbey ceremony last December. The couple shared their pregnancy news with a post to Instagram, confirming their daughter is due at the end of this year.
A number of celebrities have since sent their congratulations, including Victoria Beckham, her son Romeo, Dan Walker, Rebecca Adlington and Oti Mabuse.
Adam's family feud continues
Adam's own family were notably absent from the well-wishers. The champion swimmer, who is eyeing a fourth Olympic Games in Los Angeles in 2028, remains on non-speaking terms with his parents following a bitter fallout.
His mother, Caroline, and father, Mark, did not attend the Bath Abbey wedding six months ago, after months of reports of a family feud. There have been accusations of bullying from the Peaty camp, which Gordon has strenuously denied, as well as claims that Adam changed after becoming enamoured with the Ramsay celebrity lifestyle.
Despite the rift with his parents, Adam remains close to his sister, Bethany, who acted as maid of honour at the star-studded ceremony attended by the Beckhams.
Adopting the Ramsay name
Adam has since adopted his wife's surname, with the couple now going by Ramsay-Peaty. The move echoes the way Brooklyn Beckham took on the surname of his spouse, Nicola Peltz.
