Justin Baldoni received public support from his former Jane the Virgin co-stars Gina Rodriguez and Brett Dier after sharing his first public message following the settlement of his legal dispute with Blake Lively.

The actors commented on an emotional Instagram video posted by Baldoni and his wife, Emily Baldoni, in which the couple reflected on the challenges they faced over the past two years and their journey towards healing.

Rodriguez wrote, "Love you friends. Por vida," while Dier added, "I love you guys."

Baldoni reflects on family's healing

In the video, Baldoni said he and his wife had intentionally remained silent throughout the legal proceedings despite wanting to speak publicly.

"We have not spoken publicly for the better part of the last two years, and it's not because we haven't had anything to say," he said.

Emily Baldoni described the experience as "a lot of trauma," while Baldoni explained that they wanted to allow "the justice system run its course" instead of adding to "the noise."

The actor said the experience had strengthened their faith and brought them closer as a family.

"We are healing," Baldoni said. "Healing isn't linear... We've had to rethink what is real, and what matters. It's our family, our friends, our community and our faith."

Legal dispute ends with settlement

Baldoni's comments came two months after attorneys representing him and Lively announced they had reached a settlement, ending their legal dispute over the 2024 film It Ends With Us before the case went to trial.

In a joint statement released in May, lawyers for both sides said the film remains "a source of pride" and expressed hope that the agreement would allow everyone involved to move forward while supporting respectful workplaces.

Last month, a federal judge also ruled that Lively is entitled to recover attorneys' fees related to a counterclaim previously filed by Baldoni. However, the court said any request for punitive or treble damages would need to be pursued separately.

Former castmates stand by Baldoni

Rodriguez and Dier have both publicly supported Baldoni before.

In 2024, Rodriguez described him as "my brother forever" and said he was the Jane the Virgin cast member she remained closest to.

Dier also praised Baldoni last year, calling him "an amazing friend" and saying he hoped the legal matter would be resolved.

The trio starred together on Jane the Virgin, which aired from 2014 to 2019. Rodriguez played Jane Villanueva, Baldoni portrayed Rafael Solano and Dier starred as Michael Cordero Jr.
