Richard Gere films romantic scenes with Diana Silvers for 'Asymmetry'

Richard Gere and Diana Silvers were spotted filming romantic scenes for their upcoming drama Asymmetry in New York City, offering fans another glimpse at the film's central relationship.

Photos taken on Thursday showed the actors rehearsing and filming scenes together in a city park.

Co-stars film intimate scenes

Gere, 76, and Silvers, 28, were seen sitting closely on a park bench, appearing deep in conversation as cameras rolled.

The pair later filmed additional scenes while walking through the streets of New York, following earlier set photos released this week that showed them holding hands and embracing in character.

Film adapts acclaimed novel

Asymmetry is based on Lisa Halliday's critically acclaimed 2018 novel of the same name.

The story follows Alice, a young editorial assistant in New York, who begins a secret relationship with Ezra Blazer, a world-famous author more than four decades her senior.

According to the film's synopsis, the pair create a private world together until their romance is threatened after becoming public.

Edward Zwick directs adaptation

Oscar-winning filmmaker Edward Zwick co-wrote the screenplay with Halliday and Marshall Herskovitz. He also serves as the film's director and producer.

Halliday previously praised the creative team, saying she was grateful for their dedication in bringing Alice and Ezra's story to the screen.

Gere also has an age-gap marriage

Off-screen, Gere is married to Alejandra Silva, who is 33 years younger than the actor.

The couple, who married in 2018 after dating since 2014, share two sons and now live in Spain. Gere is also father to son Homer from his previous marriage to Carey Lowell, while Silva has a son from an earlier relationship.

Asymmetry has not yet received an official release date.
