New York Knicks guard Landry Shamet is officially engaged after proposing to longtime partner Cameron Aimonetti during a picturesque boat trip on Italy’s Lake Como.

The couple announced the happy news on Instagram on July 15, sharing a series of photos from the romantic proposal.

The images captured Shamet getting down on one knee aboard a boat before slipping the engagement ring onto Aimonetti’s finger against the scenic lakeside backdrop.

The newly engaged pair, dressed in swimwear for the intimate occasion, also celebrated with a bottle of champagne and posed together for several photos.

In another lighthearted moment, Shamet was seen diving into the water after the proposal.

A second collection of black-and-white images offered more candid glimpses from the special day, including close-up shots of Aimonetti’s engagement ring.

She kept the caption simple, writing, “Best day ever,” while their first joint post featured only infinity, globe and white heart emojis.

The announcement quickly drew congratulations from friends and fans, with many celebrating the milestone in the comments. One follower wrote that Shamet was having “the best year of his life,” while others wished the couple a lifetime of happiness together.

Although the pair have kept much of their relationship private, Aimonetti has shared photos with the NBA star dating back to September 2024, when they attended a friend’s wedding together. They were also photographed as a couple at the ESPY Awards in 2019.

Shamet previously paid tribute to Aimonetti on social media in November 2025, describing her as his “rock.”

“Highs or lows, rain or shine, any and everything in between— my rock through all that this life has to offer,” he wrote at the time, adding that he was grateful to have her by his side through every stage of life.

Aimonetti has also publicly supported Shamet throughout his basketball career. Following the Knicks’ NBA championship victory last month—the franchise’s first title in more than five decades—she shared a heartfelt message praising his determination and discipline, calling him a “World champion.”

The engagement comes after a memorable year for Shamet, who celebrated both an NBA championship and now a new chapter in his personal life with Aimonetti.
