Mary Kate Golding was found dead in her Queens apartment
Mary Kate Golding, a set decorator known for her work on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Goosebumps and Mr. and Mrs. Smith, has died after a fatal stabbing in Queens, New York. She was 34.
According to the New York Police Department, officers responded to a 911 call reporting an assault at Golding's apartment shortly after midnight on July 21. They found the 34-year-old with a stab wound to her back, and emergency responders pronounced her dead at the scene.
A few hours later, police discovered an unidentified man dead in Astoria Park. Multiple US media outlets identified him as Golding's husband, Joseph Azzaretto, with authorities reportedly investigating the deaths as a suspected murder-suicide.
Infant son found unharmed
The couple's baby son was found inside the home and was not injured, as per Variety.
The NYPD has not publicly confirmed the relationship between the two deaths or officially ruled on the cause of the man's death. Investigations remain ongoing.
Career spanned film and television
Golding had recently been attached to Sean Durkin's upcoming film Deep Cuts.
Her credits as a set decorator included Gone Girls: The Long Island Serial Killer, Full Circle, Extrapolations, Marry Me and Hawkeye.
After graduating from New York University, she began her career as an assistant on The Big Sick before contributing to productions including Gotham, Lisey's Story, The Flight Attendant and Deception.
