Four people have been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run that killed 13-year-old Sasha Balandin while he was riding his bicycle in Farmington, Minnesota.

Sasha was struck by a vehicle on July 14 while riding with a friend and attempting to cross a road near a McDonald's, according to People. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities announced the arrests on July 22. Police have not publicly identified the suspects, but local media reported they include a 30-year-old man, a 28-year-old woman, a 36-year-old man and a 64-year-old woman.

According to reports, the 30-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of criminal vehicular homicide and leaving the scene of a fatal crash. The other three suspects are accused of aiding an offender.

Two GoFundMe campaigns launched to support Sasha's family have raised more than $34,000.

One fundraiser described Sasha as a boy who loved fishing, mountain biking, collecting old coins, Pokémon and cooking for his family. He dreamed of becoming a mechanic and hoped to one day live on a farm.

Sasha is survived by his parents, younger sister and older brother.

"He was laughing all the time, playing all the time, goofing around all the time, just pure joy to have him," his father, Evgeniy Balandin, told CBS.
