Jennifer Connelly confessed that being recognised in public sometimes comes with an unexpected twist, as people frequently mistake her for fellow Hollywood actor Demi Moore.

The Dark Matter star shared the amusing encounters during Entertainment Weekly's 2026 San Diego Comic-Con Studio.

Connelly said one of the most memorable incidents happened while she was going through airport security.

She recalled that someone confidently identified her as Demi Moore despite her repeated denials.

"Oh my God, you're Demi Moore."

According to Connelly, she responded by insisting she wasn't Moore and even joked that she had her passport to prove her identity.

"I'm really not. I'm not. I have my passport to show you."

Fans also credit her with films she never made

The Oscar-winning actor said cases of mistaken identity go beyond being confused with Moore.

Connelly revealed that people often insist she appeared in films she was never part of, including one with Brad Pitt.

She recalled a fan praising her performance in a supposed Brad Pitt movie, forcing her to explain that she had never worked alongside the actor.

Despite her correction, the person remained unconvinced.

Similar careers may fuel the confusion

Connelly and Moore both launched their acting careers as teenagers during the 1980s before becoming major Hollywood stars in the decades that followed.

The two have also portrayed romantic interests opposite Tom Cruise in separate films, though they have never shared the screen together.

Connelly currently stars alongside Joel Edgerton in Dark Matter, the Apple TV+ science fiction series based on Blake Crouch's bestselling novel.

The series follows a physicist whose life changes after he becomes trapped in an alternate reality.

Season 2 of Dark Matter is scheduled to premiere on August 28.
