Tragic update reveals second letter in Nancy Guthrie disappearance case
A newly surfaced media letter indicates the missing mother of Savannah Guthrie has died
The search for Nancy Guthrie, the missing 84-year-old mother of TV host Savannah Guthrie, has taken a heartbreaking turn. According to sources familiar with the investigation, a second letter sent to media outlets indicates that Nancy has died. The note follows a previous ransom letter received after her January disappearance, which had claimed she was safe and demanded cryptocurrency for her release. Unlike the first message, the second letter did not ask for money or contain an apology.
Both letters were sent to NBC News's Arizona affiliate, KOLD. Investigators are analyzing the correspondence and believe they are potentially credible. Nancy was last seen at her Tucson, Arizona home on January 31 before being reported missing. Police previously released surveillance footage of a masked individual approaching her home on the morning she vanished, identifying that individual as a suspect in the active case.
