Brenda Lee lauds Shania Twain over 'Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree' cover

Brenda Lee expressed her gratitude to Shania Twain for her kind gesture of covering her hit Christmas song, Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree on December 8, 2023.

Shania Twain, one of Canada’s greatest singers, took to her Instagram account to post a video of her take on the iconic Christmas song.

Reflecting on the song’s recent success of topping the Billboard Hot 100 this year, she noted in her caption, “Let’s Go Girls! Brenda Lee is the oldest person to top the charts with a song she recorded 65 years ago! One gift of the digital music world is this absolute classic can have a brand new life and audience!”

“This is a traditional Christmas staple for me to play and listen to! Congratulations officialbrendalee you are a true icon and talent,” the 58-year-old artist further noted congratulating the I'm Sorry singer on her milestone.

Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree, now, holds the record for the longest period of time between an original release and its topping the Hot 100 charts, that is 65 years.
