Jacob Elordi hospitalized after second-degree burn on ‘Wuthering Heights’ set

Jacob Elordi has revealed that a simple decision to shower properly while filming Wuthering Heights resulted in a trip to the hospital.
In an interview with Esquire, the 28-year-old actor shared that his routine on set was a stark contrast to his time filming Frankenstein in 2025, where he endured 10 hours of daily makeup as “the Creature.” “I had so much makeup in my fingers and in my feet all the time,” he said. “I couldn’t be bothered washing it off at the end of the day.”
For his role as Heathcliff in Wuthering Heights, Elordi was “covered in mange and dirt” and decided to clean himself properly every night. That decision led to a painful accident: while leaning back to wash his feet, his back hit the steam knob, resulting in a second-degree burn. “I stood up screaming; it tore up my back,” he said.
The incident occurred while makeup artist Siân Miller was creating fake scars on Elordi’s back for a scene. Elordi jokingly told the crew, “Well, I’m going to go away and maim myself on the weekend to prove to you that I’m Heathcliff!”
Elordi and co-star Margot Robbie recently attended the Wuthering Heights premiere in Los Angeles on Jan. 28, bringing gothic glamour to the red carpet.
Elordi wore a sleek all-black Bottega Veneta suit, while Robbie dazzled in a lace ombré Schiaparelli gown paired with the Cartier Taj Mahal from the Elizabeth Taylor Archive and Estate.
