Hilary Duff dishes on the 'Lizzie McGuire Movie' outfit she couldn’t stand

Hilary Duff opened up about one of the most iconic looks from The Lizzie McGuire Movie, and it’s not all love.

The 38-year-old actress, who rose to fame as Lizzie McGuire on the Disney Channel series, recently reflected on stepping into the dual role of Lizzie and pop star Isabella Parigi for the 2003 film.

In a candid conversation with Vanity Fair, Duff admitted there was one outfit she “hated” despite its lasting fame.

“I remember hating this green Isabella outfit so much,” she told the publication. “It’s so funny that it’s so iconic.”

The ensemble, which appeared during Isabella’s big performance in Rome, featured a reflective green jacket, a mini skirt with a sheer sequin overlay, fishnet leggings, sparkly boots, and a green heart-shaped choker.

Designed to convey the pop star’s flashy image, the look remains one of the most memorable visuals from the film, particularly during the climactic duet of What Dreams Are Made Of.

Stepping from the TV series into the movie world was a stark change for Duff, who had more personal influence over Lizzie’s wardrobe on the small screen.

“Unlike the TV show, where I picked all my clothes, there was a costumer [on the movie], but it was very influenced by me,” Duff explained.

“Not so much in the movie and, by the way, she crushed it — but being a young teenage girl, I just remember not liking that lime green number at all.”

Despite her dislike for the outfit, Duff found one highlight she genuinely loved: the brown wig that completed Isabella’s look.
