Gigi Hadid breaks silence on 'disturbing' Epstein files involving sister Bella

Gigi Hadid is addressing her and her sister Bella Hadid's mention in the Epstein-related documents.
In a 2015 email exchange between Jeffrey Epstein and another unnamed individual — made public by the US Department of Justice and reviewed by a media outlet — an unknown person questioned how Gigi, 30, and Bella, 29, became models and achieved such financial success.
Epstein simply replied, “You know,” which led the individual to suggest that their father might have “paid the agency.”
“No,” Epstein firmly stated, followed by, “Because they follow directions, it’s quite straightforward.”
Following the release of the email, a person on social media commented on one of Gigi’s Instagram posts on March 29, confessing that they “had to unfollow” the model due to her silence regarding her mention in the documents.
Throughout 2008 to 2019, many women came forward with allegations of sexual abuse against Epstein.
In July 2019, Epstein was arrested and charged with sex trafficking minors and conspiring to engage in trafficking minors for sex.
Just weeks after, on August 10, the disgraced financier and sex offender was found deceased by suicide in his jail cell while awaiting trial on federal charges of conspiracy and sex trafficking.
In a now-deleted response to the comment on her Instagram post, Gigi clarified why she initially chose not to address her inclusion in the Epstein-related documents.
“It’s shocking to read words from someone you’ve never encountered describing you in that way. Especially considering the situation,” she wrote, as reported by E! News and InStyle. “I refrained from commenting because I don’t want to divert attention from the real victims’ stories; however, your comment made it clear that maybe I should clarify, and it’s crucial to inform you.”
“Being named in those documents, I estimate I was around 20-21 when he wrote that email — it's disturbing,” she continued. “I want to clearly state that I have never been associated with that vile individual.”
Acknowledging her upbringing as “privileged,” Gigi further mentioned her parents, Mohamed Hadid and Yolanda Hadid, “shielded me and instilled the importance of diligence.”
She further emphasised that after being signed by a modeling agency in 2012, she has “worked diligently for every achievement thereafter."
