Zendaya reflects on ‘Euphoria’ as she teases show’s final chapter

Zendaya has suggested that HBO’s hit series Euphoria will conclude after its highly anticipated third season.

Speaking on The Drew Barrymore Show, the 29-year-old actress, who stars as the troubled Rue Bennett, confirmed the show’s ending when asked directly. “I think so, yeah,” she said. When asked again, Zendaya repeated, “Yes, I think so.”

Rue, she explained, has been a transformative role. “Rue taught me so much about life… that crew has also seen me grow up. I owe so much to that show. Rue taught me so much about empathy and about redemption. She taught me a lot, and I’m very grateful for all of it,” she added.

The eight-episode third season premieres this Sunday (April 12, 2026), ending a four-year hiatus. The delay came after creator Sam Levinson advanced the ensemble cast — including Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, and Maude Apatow — five years forward, showing their transition from high school into adult life.

Filming season three was a whirlwind for Zendaya, who is juggling major roles in The Odyssey, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and Dune: Part Three this year.

“I did what I do in eight months in like four months, so I was just like — it was like trying to get eight episodes in at once. It just flew by for me! But I’m excited, I hope it turns out beautifully,” she told Variety.

With a packed 2026 ahead, Zendaya admitted she might take a break from the public eye.

“I just hope people don’t get sick of me, and I really appreciate everyone who supports any of the movies [and] supports my career in any kind of way. I’m deeply appreciative. I’m going to have to go into hiding for just a little bit,” she told Fandango.
