Sam Levinson dedicates ‘Euphoria’ Season 3 to Angus Cloud, Eric Dane and Kevin Turen

Sam Levinson unveiled the third season of Euphoria at the TCL Chinese Theatre, dedicating it to “those we've lost,” such as Angus Cloud, Eric Dane, and producer Kevin Turen.

The creator of Euphoria introduced the Season 3 debut of the HBO series and expressed gratitude for the entire cast, mentioning some who had passed on.

“Some folks wonder why there was a delay between the second and third seasons,” he explained. “There were clear reasons — strikes, coordinating our popular cast's schedule, but mainly, it took time to discover how to honor those we've lost.”

He went on to say, “When Angus passed, it hit hard. I cherished him greatly and did my best to help him stay sober. In 2023, he was among 73,000 in America who passed from a fentanyl overdose. That year was full of lessons for me, but ultimately, I learned that death gives life its importance. You can't be haughty about life. You have to face the fact that life is marvelous, a gift, an incredible blessing.”

Levinson mentioned that he aimed for Euphoria Season 3 to embody “meaning beyond the madness.”

The filmmaker dedicated this season “to those we've lost, Angus, Kevin, and Eric,” saying, “The Rebbe states, 'The only way to see great light is to go through great darkness.’ It's nice to be on the brighter side finally.”

Cloud portrayed Fezco in the first two seasons of Euphoria. The actor died in 2023 from “acute intoxication” at age 25 in Oakland, California.

Dane was able to return for the third season of the HBO drama before he passed in February.

The actor died from respiratory failure, with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) contributing.
