Lily Collins teases Emily Cooper’s future as 'Emily in Paris' expands beyond France
The actress suggests London as a possible destination for the character
Lily Collins has offered a playful glimpse into the possible future of her hit Netflix character as fans eagerly await the next chapter of Emily in Paris.
Speaking in a BBC interview in 2024, Collins reflected on where Emily Cooper might travel next, suggesting that London could be a natural stop for the ever-optimistic marketing executive known for her bold “main character energy.”
“She would definitely go to Portobello Road and buy some antiques, obviously visit Big Ben and Hamleys,” Collins said, imagining Emily’s signature enthusiasm clashing with British tradition.
The actress also joked that Emily would likely attempt to get into Buckingham Palace and try to charm the famously stoic guards, adding that success might not come easily.
“She would also definitely try and get the guards to smile, but I’m not sure she’d be able to do that,” she added.
Collins further described Emily as someone who embraces experiences without overplanning, saying she personally enjoys the same spontaneous spirit when exploring cities like London.
“I love the Tube, but most of all I love sitting on the front of a double-decker bus and just watching everything go by,” she said.
Her comments come as anticipation builds for the upcoming season of the series, which has gradually shifted toward more mature storytelling while continuing Emily’s European adventures.
Although Collins once floated London as a dream destination for the character, recent production updates suggest a different direction.
Filming for the next season is expected to begin in May, with reports indicating new storylines set in Greece and Monaco instead.
