Daniel Radcliffe surprises fans with his personal ‘Harry Potter’ rankings

Daniel Radcliffe has revisited his time in the wizarding world — and shares his personal ranking of the Harry Potter films, including the one he places at the “bottom of the bracket.”

Appearing on the Happy Sad Confused podcast with Josh Horowitz, the 36-year-old actor reflected on his performances across the eight-film series, admitting his perspective has shifted over time.

“When I was 18, I would cringe watching the earlier films,” Radcliffe said. “Now, I think the early films are sweet, and I cringe watching myself when I was 18 or 19.”

Taking on the challenge of ranking the films, Radcliffe revealed that between Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, he prefers the latter, citing his fondness for the Basilisk storyline.

He also surprised fans by choosing Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire over the widely praised Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, explaining that he particularly enjoyed his experience working on the fourth installment.

“I know everyone wants me to say Azkaban… but I love the stuff I got to do on the fourth movie,” he said.

When it came to his top pick, Radcliffe named Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 as his favorite, pointing to its emotional weight as the conclusion of the long-running series.

However, he was equally candid about his least favorite entry.

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is probably the bottom of the bracket for me,” Radcliffe admitted, clarifying that his critique was more about his own performance than the film itself.
