Christina Applegate continues MS battle as friends express deep concern

Christina Applegate’s inner circle is reportedly growing increasingly concerned about her health as she continues to live with multiple sclerosis, with sources claiming her condition has become unpredictable and emotionally difficult for those closest to her.

The Married… With Children star, 54, was recently reported to have been hospitalized in Los Angeles, though it remains unclear whether the visit was directly related to her diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis, which she publicly revealed in 2021.

Applegate has spoken openly about her health journey in recent years, including through her podcast MesSy, which she co-hosts with Jamie-Lynn Sigler.

A source told The Daily Mail that those close to the actress are struggling with the uncertainty of her condition.

“With every setback, if we are being realistic, everyone has it in the back of their minds that they might not have a tomorrow with her,” the insider said.

The source added that Applegate’s battle with MS has been “treacherous,” describing a cycle of difficult days with limited periods of relief.

“She has better days and really bad days; she doesn’t have great days. She’s always dealing with something,” the source said.

Despite the challenges, the insider noted that Applegate continues to lean on her support system of friends and loved ones, who remain present through both physical and emotional struggles.

“She has so many friends that are there for her, even to listen to her, cry with her and anything in between,” the source added.

A representative for Applegate declined to comment on reports of her hospitalization or current medical treatment, noting only that she has been open about her long-term health challenges.

“She’s had a long history of complicated medical conditions that she has been refreshingly open about,” the spokesperson said.

Applegate, who shares a 13-year-old daughter, Sadie, with husband Martyn LeNoble, has previously spoken about the impact of her illness on her daily life, including moments where pain has confined her to bed while she continues to care for her child.

In earlier interviews, she described pushing through severe discomfort to spend time with her daughter, calling those moments her “favorite thing to do” despite the physical toll.

On a recent episode of MesSy, Applegate also recalled a previous hospital visit involving intense abdominal pain that was later diagnosed as a kidney infection that had spread.
