Barbie Ferreira explains why she’s hesitant to try cosmetic procedures
The Euphoria star admits she is 'really scared' of losing facial movement
Barbie Ferreira has opened up about her hesitation toward cosmetic procedures, saying she is “really scared” of getting Botox because of how it could affect her ability to fully express emotions as a performer.
Speaking on the In Your Dreams podcast, the 29-year-old explained that while she does not rule out trying Botox in the future, she is in no rush to pursue it.
For now, she said she prioritizes maintaining a highly expressive face, which she considers essential to her acting career.
“I haven’t done Botox yet because I have to express a face and I’m really scared to go down that route,” Ferreira said, adding that she believes the procedure will “eventually happen,” but not at this stage in her life.
The Euphoria star also shared that her fear is tied closely to her professional identity, noting that her ability to emote is central to her work on screen.
Instead of injectables, she said she prefers non-invasive skin treatments such as laser-based procedures.
Ferreira described experimenting with treatments like Morpheus8 in her early twenties, calling the experience intense.
She recalled being offered sedation options during one session but jokingly declined, saying she had driven herself there and felt fine.
Beyond beauty routines, Ferreira also reflected on the pressures she felt early in her career, particularly during her time in modeling.
She said that by the age of 20, she felt a sense of urgency and believed her opportunities in fashion were limited.
That realization, she explained, pushed her to shift her focus back toward acting on a decision she ultimately sees as essential to her long-term goals.
