Cardi B brings comedy to baseball game as she throws first pitch for son Wave
The rapper joked that she prefers indoor 'girls' mom' activities like dance recitals
Cardi B brought her signature humour to the baseball field over the weekend as she threw the first pitch at her 4-year-old son Wave’s game, joking later that she “can’t handle” the outdoor heat.
The 33-year-old rapper, known for hits like Bodak Yellow, shared clips and reactions on her Instagram Stories on Sunday, May 17, after taking part in the youth sporting event alongside her son.
In a viral video circulating on X, Cardi is seen walking onto the field with Wave Set Cephus as spectators chant her name.
She then tosses the ball toward the catcher while her son stands beside her.
Following the moment, Cardi joked that she identifies more as a “girls’ mom,” saying she prefers indoor events over outdoor sports environments.
“This is why I say I’m such a girls’ mom,” she wrote. “A dance recital inside, I love it. I love a dance recital inside.”
She went on to complain about the heat during the game, adding that she struggled to cope with the conditions.
“Being outside in this heat for a baseball game, urgh, I can’t handle it,” she said, later adding, “I’m ready to pass out.”
Cardi shares three children — Kulture, Wave, and Blossom — with her estranged husband Offset.
The appearance comes amid ongoing public interest in Cardi’s personal life, including her on-and-off relationship with NFL star Stefon Diggs, with whom she welcomed a son in 2025.
The pair have recently been spotted together at public events, fuelling speculation of a reconciliation, including appearances at a Mother’s Day wellness event where they were seen posing together.
Cardi also recently addressed a separate viral clip involving Diggs, joking on social media about reacting like any parent in a heated moment, while dismissing speculation around their interaction.
Despite the attention, the rapper has continued to balance public appearances with family life, often sharing moments with her children on social media.
