Kanye West’s ‘Power’ echoes through stadium after Al Ahli’s historic AFC win
The anthem erupted through the stadium during post-match fireworks and celebrations
Al Ahli Saudi FC’s historic AFC Champions League triumph was marked by an electrifying stadium celebration as Kanye West’s anthem Power erupted through the speakers, turning the victory moment into a full-scale spectacle.
The Saudi club secured back-to-back continental titles, triggering celebrations at their home ground in front of nearly 60,000 fans. As fireworks lit up the stadium, players and supporters were swept into the atmosphere, powered by West’s 2010 hit.
Originally featured on My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, “Power” has become one of West’s most recognisable tracks, often associated with dominance and high-energy sporting moments. Its thundering beat underscored the club’s historic achievement as players clapped and soaked in the win.
The stadium scene reflected the scale of the victory, with fans erupting as the anthem played on repeat during post-match celebrations, reinforcing the cultural crossover between global music and sport.
Meanwhile, West, also known as Ye, has recently made headlines off the pitch, with his planned concert in New Delhi postponed due to reported security concerns.
The show, originally scheduled for May 23, was called off by organisers White Fox, who cited official directives and prioritised public safety.
Organisers said they remained hopeful for a rescheduled date, while expressing regret over the cancellation after months of preparation for what was expected to be one of India’s largest live productions.
