Mollie King opens up on health scare, 'tough times' after collapse
Mollie King explains her recent absence from the airwaves
BBC Radio 1 presenter Mollie King shared a candid update following her frightening collapse at home, revealing she is still recovering and learning to slow down.
The 38‑year‑old broadcaster explained she was left unconscious after falling in her bathroom at 4 a.m. She was rushed to hospital with husband Stuart Broad by her side until she regained consciousness, an ordeal that explained her recent absence from the airwaves.
Posting to Instagram, King thanked fans for their support: “I wanted to say how blown away I’ve been by all of your messages over the past 24 hours. It honestly means the world.” She shared a video with her eldest daughter Annabella, three, and admitted she is taking life more “slowly” as she recovers.
King acknowledged the mental toll of her health scare: “When something happens out of the blue and my body suddenly doesn’t do what you expect it to, it’s very easy for my mind to go into overdrive, trying to find answers and overthinking every little thing.”
The former Saturdays singer said she has spent much of her life “charging around at 100 miles per hour” but now recognizes the need to pause. “If we don’t make time to stop, something has to give,” she wrote, adding that she is embracing early bedtimes, quiet breaks, and family moments.
King concluded: “I’ve always known that the most important thing in life is my family and being the best mum I can be to my two little girls. Right now, I’m trying to embrace a slightly different pace, focus on fresh air and getting my energy back. And honestly, that feels pretty good.”
Fans flooded her comments with messages of encouragement, praising her honesty and vulnerability.
