Meghan Markle’s Father’s Day tribute puts Prince Harry’s role as dad in the spotlight

Prince Harry was warmly celebrated as a devoted father on Sunday as Meghan Markle shared a heartfelt Father’s Day tribute featuring the Duke of Sussex and their two children.

On June 21, Meghan, 44, posted a new family photo on Instagram showing Harry, 41, smiling as he embraced Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5. Alongside the image, she wrote: “They’re so lucky to have you. We all are.”

“Happy Father’s Day to our one and only,” the Duchess of Sussex added, highlighting Harry’s role within the family, where he is affectionately referred to as “Papa Sussex.”

The post offered a rare glimpse into the Sussex family life in Montecito, California, where Harry and Meghan have been raising their children since stepping back from royal duties in 2020.

The couple has frequently spoken about prioritizing normalcy for Archie and Lilibet despite their high-profile lives.

Meghan previously noted that their goal is for their children to grow up with a sense of everyday stability, even within an unusual public context.

The Father’s Day tribute comes amid renewed attention on the family’s potential return to the United Kingdom.

According to reports, Meghan and the children are expected to join Prince Harry on a trip to the U.K. next month, which would mark the family’s first visit together since 2022.

If confirmed, the visit would also coincide with growing focus on Harry’s ongoing relationship with the royal family.

The Duke of Sussex has previously spoken about feeling unable to bring his children to the U.K. without state-funded security, which was removed after the couple stepped back from royal duties.

Harry last reunited with King Charles in September 2025 during a private meeting in London, their first in 19 months.

While Harry has publicly expressed a desire for reconciliation, tensions within the family have remained unresolved following the couple’s departure from royal life.
