Search intensifies after Georgia AMBER Alert issued for teenager

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation issued a statewide AMBER Alert on Thursday for a 13-year-old girl who authorities believe is in extreme danger. Layla Alexis Nubian Carter was last seen around 1:00 am on Thursday at a residence on James Drive in Baxley, Georgia. Law enforcement officials launched the emergency broadcast, locally known as a Levi's Call, as concerns grew for the teenager's immediate safety.
PEOPLE reported that the teenager was allegedly abducted and is believed to be travelling with 32-year-old Giavannie Alexis Carter. Investigators reported that the pair are travelling in a grey Jeep Renegade bearing the Georgia registration plate SLU9322. Authorities have urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report any sightings of the vehicle or the individuals immediately to emergency services.
According to physical descriptions provided by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, the missing teenager has blonde braided hair. She was last seen wearing a T-shirt and pyjama bottoms at the time of her disappearance. The National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children added that the teenager has brown eyes, stands approximately 5 feet 2 inches tall, and weighs 100 pounds.
The suspect, Giavannie Alexis Carter, is also described as being 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighing 140 pounds. She has black braided hair and was last seen wearing a grey and white tank top, black shorts, and a black baseball cap featuring a blue trim. Law enforcement officials have not yet disclosed the relationship between the suspect and the missing child, but they reiterated in the emergency alert that the teenager is believed to be in extreme danger.
