Nara Smith reveals daughter Whimsy is in remission after cancer battle
The influencer shared an emotional update, confirming her daughter is now in remission
Influencer Nara Smith has shared that her two-year-old daughter, Whimsy, is now in remission after an eight-month battle with cancer.
The 24-year-old content creator, who is married to model Lucky Blue Smith, recently revealed that their daughter was diagnosed with cancer late last year.
In a heartfelt Instagram update, Nara thanked supporters and confirmed that Whimsy has completed treatment and is now in remission.
"I just wanted to come on here and say thank you so, so much for all your kind messages, prayers, support. It truly has meant so, so much to us," she said.
Nara explained that she and Lucky had spent the past eight months privately processing their daughter's diagnosis and chose to wait until treatment had ended before sharing the news publicly.
"We wanted to wait until she was done with treatment and knowing what the outcome of her situation would be before sharing it," she said. "Now that she's finally in remission, it felt like I could find the words to share."
The influencer said the decision to speak about their family's experience was motivated by a desire to raise awareness of the challenges faced by families dealing with childhood cancer.
She revealed that witnessing her daughter's chemotherapy treatments highlighted the financial and emotional burden many families experience during medical care.
"The whole point of me sharing our experience was to shed light on what so many families go through and battle privately," Nara said, adding that she has been researching charities and foundations to support while also planning to share resources that could help affected families.
Although Whimsy's treatment has ended, Nara admitted that adjusting to everyday life has not been easy for the family.
"Lucky and I have been trying to return to everyday life and taking it day by day. I don't know whether life will ever feel normal again, but we're trying to navigate this next chapter the best that we can," she shared.
She concluded her message by thanking supporters once again and sending love to families still facing similar battles.
"I'm sending all my love to families that are actively still going through this fight."
