Kristen Doute calls Brittany Cartwright the 'victim' in Jax Taylor drama
Brittany Cartwright has found support in Kristen Doute, who says the reality star is the 'victim'
Kristen Doute is standing firmly behind Brittany Cartwright, calling her the "victim" following ex-husband Jax Taylor's new relationship with his former publicist, Lori Krebs.
Taylor, 47, split from Cartwright in 2024 and has since begun dating Krebs, who had worked closely with both of them for years.
Speaking on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, Doute said she was frustrated by criticism directed at Cartwright, arguing that Krebs had been deeply involved in the couple's lives long before the romance became public.
"Brittany's whole life is nothing but Cruz and Lori has been there for 10 years every step of the way," Doute said, referring to Cartwright and Taylor's son.
"She knows every detail. She knows every text message, every a****** move that Jax has made towards Brittany."
The reality star insisted Cartwright should not be blamed for the situation, despite some fans suggesting the relationship was old news.
"Don't come after Brittany. Brittany is the victim here and honestly, who cares about Jax. This is so Jax's way of doing things. This was her paid professional. This was someone who is like family to her," Doute added.
Earlier this year, a source told Us Weekly that Taylor and Krebs' relationship only became romantic in recent months after the pair supported each other through difficult periods in their lives.
"What began as a longstanding friendship gradually evolved into a relationship," the insider said, adding there had been "never a romantic relationship before that" despite years of speculation.
Cartwright has previously spoken about the efforts she made to save her marriage before their separation, revealing she stood by Taylor throughout his struggles with addiction.
Speaking on her When Reality Hits podcast, she said, "No one wants Jax to be better more than I do."
"I tried and tried and tried for years to help this man get better and for us to be a happy family. I was deeply and madly in love with him... My love was real."
Cartwright added that she worked especially hard to encourage Taylor to seek help after the birth of their son, but ultimately decided to walk away from the marriage.
