A new documentary featuring Beverly Hills, 90210 stars Tori Spelling and Brian Austin Green
Tori Spelling and Brian Austin Green are lending their support to a new documentary that makes a bold claim: the best pizza in the United States can be found in Los Angeles.
The Beverly Hills, 90210 stars appear in The Best Pizza Is in LA, filmmaker Pete Ferriero's new documentary exploring more than a dozen pizza restaurants across the city while celebrating its diverse food scene.
Ferriero, who hosts a Beverly Hills, 90210 podcast, said featuring Spelling and Green was a dream come true, having grown up as a fan of the hit teen drama.
"Getting to spend time with Donna Martin and David Silver while eating pizza and hearing about their lives was incredible," Ferriero said, referring to the actors' iconic characters.
He also praised Spelling's passion for food, saying she brought genuine enthusiasm to conversations about pizza rather than simply revisiting 90210 memories.
Green admitted the documentary did not change his opinion that New York still serves the country's best pizza, but he signed on because he admired Ferriero's filmmaking and found the concept appealing.
"I think he has a really cool eye for things and for these really fun concepts," Green said, adding that the film encourages people to appreciate great food regardless of where it comes from.
The actor also described pizza as a food that brings people together, noting its strong connection to family traditions and shared experiences.
Ferriero said the documentary was inspired after someone from New Jersey insisted Los Angeles had no good pizza. Offended by the remark, he set out to prove the opposite.
The film also showcases prominent chefs including Nancy Silverton, Brooke Williamson, Stephanie Izard and Joe Sasto, highlighting the wide variety of pizza styles available across Los Angeles, from New York and Detroit to New Haven-inspired slices.
The Best Pizza Is in LA debuted on July 28 and is now available on major digital platforms, including Amazon, Apple TV, Google Play, YouTube Movies and Cable On Demand.
