Former Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Akhtar has obtained a stay order against the makers of his supposed biopic, titled Rawalpindi Express, amid an ongoing legal battle.

Taking to Instagram stories on Tuesday, Shoaib Akhtar announced the court's decision, which prohibits the filming and release of the film until a final decision is reached in the lawsuit.

The 47-year-old legendary figure in cricket shared a screenshot of his post, stating, "alhamdolillah, I have secured a stay order against the filming and release of the supposed biopic being made on my life by a certain group of people."

The former cricketer also warned those involved in the project about the potential illegality of their actions and the reputational damage they may face.

An intimation notice providing further details on the legal situation was attached to the Instagram story.

According to the notice from Shoaib's lawyer, the court has restrained the producer of the biopic from shooting, filming, and releasing any part of the film on any media platform, including social media and cinema, until a final decision is made.

The legal action comes in response to persistent threats from the filmmakers, who have continued production despite the termination of the agreement between Shoaib and the production team.

The notice serves as a stern warning that the film is subject to dispute and litigation, and anyone involved in its production will be held accountable.

The Rawalpindi Express biopic, touted as the first foreign film about a Pakistani sportsman, was initially scheduled to release in November.

However, with the ongoing legal battle and the stay order in place, the fate of the film remains uncertain.
