Lil Tay, the viral internet sensation known for her controversial persona, has died at the young age of 14. 

Born Claire Eileen Qi Hope, her untimely passing has left fans and followers stunned. 

The circumstances surrounding her death are currently under investigation, as confirmed by a statement on her official Instagram account on Wednesday.

The statement conveyed the unexpected nature of her passing, leaving her loved ones grappling with a profound loss that words cannot adequately capture. 

The announcement also revealed the passing of Lil Tay's brother, Jason Tian, further deepening the sorrow.

Lil Tay, originally from Vancouver, British Columbia, rose to fame in 2018 with posts featuring ostentatious displays of wealth and luxury cars, earning her the moniker 'youngest flexer.' 

Her rise was, however, marred by controversies, including the use of profanity and a racial slur in her content.

The young influencer's journey was marked by discussions about her family's role in shaping her online persona. 

Lil Tay addressed critics on platforms like Good Morning America, asserting her independence and choice in her actions, despite her tender age.

Lil Tay also delved into the world of content creation with a web docuseries named Life With Lil Tay on The Zeus Network, a streaming platform catering to influencers.

 However, allegations of exploitation emerged, casting shadows on her narrative.

 There were indications of coaching by her brother, which surfaced in videos and were later taken down.
