'Shape of You' by Ed Sheeran


Shape of You is a song by the English singer-songwriter, Ed Sheeran. It was released on January 6, 2017 and became the best performing the song of the year.

It is a dancehall and R&B infused pop song, produced by Sheeran and Steve Mac. The song peaked at the number one spot on the singles charts in 34 different countries.

On December 10, 2018, Shape of You became the first song to hit 2 billion streams on Spotify and is currently the second most streamed song on the platform behind The Weekend’s Blinding Lights.

'Despacito' by  Luis Fonsi ft. Daddy Yankee:


Despacito (Latin for Slowly) is a song by the Puerto Rican singer, Luis Fonsi and the Puerto Rican rapper, Daddy Yankee. The song was released on January 13, 2017, as the lead single from Fonsi’s 2019 album, Vida.

It is a fusion of Latin pop and reggaeton that has won Latin Grammy Awards in the categories of Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Urban/Fusin performance and Best Short Form Music Video.

The record topped the charts of 47 different countries and became the first Latin song to top the Billboard Hot 100 in the US since Macarena by Los del Rio.

'Rolling in the Deep' by Adele:


Rolling in the Deep is a song by the English singer-songwriter, Adele, and is her second studio album’s lead single as well as opening track.

The artist herself describes her song as a "dark blues-y gospel disco tune" which gained widespread praise because of its production, lyrics and Adele’s vocal performance.

Rolling in the Deep was her first number-one song that reigned on the top position of the Billboard Hot 100 for seven weeks.

'Uptown Funk' by  Mark Ronson ft. Bruno Mars:


Uptown Funk is a song by the Barbie soundtrack producer, Mark Ronson. The track features the American singer, Bruno Mars.

The song was released on November 10, 2014, as the lead single from Ronson’s fourth album titled, Uptown Special.

Uptown Funk is a fusion of different musical genres including soul, funk-pop, disco-pop and boogie while its lyrics address fashion, self-love, charisma and fun.

It topped the Billboard Hot 100 for 14 consecutive weeks and was certified Platinum 11 times by the Recording Industry Association of America.

'Love Story' by   Taylor Swift:


Love Story is a song by the American singer and songwriter, Taylor Swift and is the lead single of her second studio album, Fearless.

The midtempo country pop song is inspired from Shakespeare’s tragedy, Romeo and Juliet.  This track sold six million copies in the US and 18 million copies worldwide.

Love Story was originally released on September 15, 2008 and re-recorded as Taylor’s Version in February 2021.

Love Story (Taylor’s Version) topped the Hot Country Charts and made Swift the second artist after Dolly Parton to reach the number one spot with their original as well as re-recorded versions of a song.

'Believer' by Imagine Dragons:


Believer is a song by the American pop rock band, Imagine Dragons. The song was released on February 2017 as the lead single from the band’s third studio album, Evolve.

It landed the number four position on the Billboard Hot 100 becoming the band’s third single to land in any one of the top 10 spots, after their songs Radioactive and Demons.

Believer gained a boost of popularity when it was used in the season finale in the first season of CW’s Riverdale. It became the fifth best-selling song of 2017 and one of the best selling singles of all time.

'God’s Plan' by Drake:


God’s Plan is a song recorded by the Canadian rapper, Drake and was released on January 19, 2018.

The pop, pop-rap and trap music addresses Drake’s fame as well as his fate. It broke first-day streaming records on both Apple Music and Spotify, becoming the most streamed song of the year on both platforms.

God’s Plan received three Grammy nominations in the categories of Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Song, winning the latter.

'Bad Guy' by  Billie Eilish:


Bad Guy is a song by the American singer-songwriter, Billie Eilish and is the fifth single from her first album titled, When We Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?

With minimal instruments used, the song is described as a mix of dance-pop, electropop and rap-pop. The song was released on March 29, 2019 while its collaboration with Justin Bieber was released on July 11, 2019.

Including the Billboard Hot 100, Bad Guy topped 16 international charts including countries like UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

This song earned Eilish two Grammy Awards in the categories of Record of the Year and Song of the Year at the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards.
