Slipknot singer Corey Taylor battling ‘deadly depression’
Corey Taylor cancels concert, opens up about alcoholism and relapse

Corey Taylor, singer of the popular metal band Slipknot, has opened up in an Instagram video about his deteriorating mental wellbeing after suddenly cancelling his North American concert this month.
He began by revealing that he has been going through a “breakdown” after having difficulties with quitting alcohol. In fact, way back in 2003, he even tried jumping off a terrace.
“The truth of the matter is, I understand why so many of you are upset,” the musician wrote, adding, “Over the last year, I have had a complete and utter breakdown of boundaries, mental health, ego, and entitlement in a very near relapse.”
Now getting proper medical help, Corey is closely surrounded by caring family members, and is immensely grateful for everyone else who patiently stays by his side during this long phase of depression, especially his fans.
At the end, the Black Eyes Blue vocalist expressed that he’s doing the best for himself and for people who have invested in him, saying, “It’s a long road and I don’t know what’s at the end of it, but I look forward to it.”
