Hollywood activists: Celebrities who are not afraid to talk about politics
Find out which Hollywood stars openly talk about politics

Over the past few years, especially since the infamous George Floyd’s case, several celebrities have become increasingly outspoken about their political beliefs.
However, it is not always met with open arms, as some believe that celebrities should keep their noses out of politics and rather remain unfazed by whatever is happening in the political world.
Below is the list of Hollywood stars who have chosen to use their platforms to promote political causes:
Cardi B:

During the 2020 presidential elections in the United States, Cardi B was one of the most outspoken celebrities in terms of politics.
She was very honest about her support for Senator Bernie Sanders and even interviewed him several times throughout his bid for the Democratic nomination.
The Bodak Yellow rapper also had the chance to have a conversation with the former President of U.S., Joe Biden, regarding the rampant struggles the Black community faces.
However, after receiving a lot of hate publicly, she decided to take a step back from talking about politics.
"I was tired of getting bullied by the republicans and also getting bashed by the same people I was standing up for," Cardi responded to a fan on X about why she stopped promoting her beliefs on her platform.
Beyoncé:

The Halo hitmaker has always emphasised on the significance of voting.
One prime example of that would be when Beyoncé devoted her 2020 acceptance speech for BET’s Humanitarian award to the cause, telling the audience, “We have to vote like our life depends on it, because it does.”
She also encouraged viewers to "dismantle a racist and unequal system."
It is worth noting that Beyoncé supported Joe Biden in the 2020 elections and even joined Hillary Clinton the campaign trail in 2016.
Mark Ruffalo:

The Now You See Me actor is among those celebrities who have always voiced their opinions on important causes like abortion rights, climate crisis, immigration, and the ongoing war between Israel and Palestine.
There have been several instances where he has spoken out against Donald Trump.
In 2018, he starred in a video alongside Common in which he said separating families at the U.S. border is “a humanitarian crisis.”
Alicia Keys:

Alicia Keys has time and time again voiced her opinion on how essential it is for people to be politically involved.
"It's just too many lies. Too much hate, too much spin. It's when good people do nothing, that the bad guys win,” she said while hosting the 2020 Grammys.
The My Boo songstress has also called for Donald Trump’s impeachment in her speech.
Moreover, Alicia is also the co-founder of Keep A Child Alive, which supports children in Kenya, Rwanda, South Africa, Uganda and India through HIV/AIDS support and treatment, education about sexual and reproductive rights and abuses, as well as emergency relief.
Billie Eilish:

Lastly, the Bad Guy hitmaker has also frequently talked about political issues.
Recently, she openly expressed her disappointment after Donald Trump was elected President in the 2024 presidential elections.
“Someone who hates women so, so deeply is about to be president of the United States,” Billie said while addressing the crowd at Bridgestone Arena on November 6, 2024.
