Ryan Reynolds strikes against Justin Baldoni amid Blake Lively legal drama
Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively have been embroiled in a legal fight againt Justin Baldoni

Ryan Reynolds recently filed a motion against his wife, Blake Lively’s It Ends with Us costar, Justin Baldoni in which he has requested the court to dismiss Baldoni’s already filed lawsuit against him.
The Deadpool & Wolverine actor, according to The Hollywood Reporter, has argued through his legal team that the 41-year-old actor’s case lacks merit.
According to the motion, Baldoni’s lawsuit is based on an alleged private statement where Reynolds supposedly referred to him as a "predator".
The IF star' legal team, led by attorneys Mike Gottlieb and Esra Hudson, argued, "The absence of these details makes it impossible, for example, to determine whether this statements falls within the applicable one-year statute of limitations for defamation."
Moreover, the Adam Project actor’s lawyers also fired back at the extortion claim, arguing that while Baldoni and his team accused Reynolds of extortion, they failed to mention any money or property he supposedly received.
"They’re demanding $400 million in damages without explaining who suffered the loss, how much, or what supposedly caused it," said the his legal team, adding Reynolds has a "First Amendment right to express his opinion."
According to the father-of-four’s legal team, if the Jane the Virgin alum wants to win his defamation case, he’ll need to prove Reynolds didn’t actually believe what he said about Baldoni being a "predator."
Justin Baldoni in his counter-lawsuit, which he filed in January 2025 against Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively and the New York Times, accused the Hollywood star specifically of privately calling him a "sexual predator" and pressuring their shared agency, WME, to drop him.
