Adam Levine confirmed on the latest episode of The Tonight Show that Maroon 5 will be releasing new music this year.

“The rumours are correct. There are details. I cannot divulge all the details,” Levine said. “But the details are basically, roughly, there’s a single coming at the end of the month-ish. I’m really excited about it. An album is coming over the summer. Non-specifically around the summertime. And then, even more non-specifically, there is a tour coming in the fall-ish.”

Maroon 5 has not released an album since 2021’s Jordi and also, the new single will be the band's first after 2023's Middle Ground.

Levine also shared his experience working for the first time with producer Benny Blanco  on Maroon 5's  hit Moves Like Jagger.

The 2011 Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hit was co-produced and co-written by Blanco. The Sugar singer described him as a “fun… hilarious dude”.

Moreover, the Girls Like You singer also revealed that Blanco was the first person to convince him to write songs on his own taking no help from his bandmates.

Selena Gomez’s fiancé played him a few demos , including Moves Like Jagger and Gym Class Heroes’ Stereo Hearts.

“He brought those two to me and I was like, ‘Oh this is a lot of fun,’” Levine said. “Having new energy is a great thing… funnily enough, now I’ve kind of gone back to writing and shutting everybody out. But Benny was the first guy that got me to kind of think outside of the band.”

For the unversed, Adam  Levine has  been a part of Maroon 5 since 1994.
