Blake Lively to skip out on Met Gala 2025 amid lawsuit?

Blake Lively, who has been making headlines after the release of the film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s novel It Ends With Us, will seemingly not be in attendance at this year's Met Gala.

While the 37-year-old Hollywood icon is known for flaunting her extravagant style at the annual charity event, it seems like fans won’t witness her extraordinary look and fashion in 2025. 

The Gossip Girl alum’s last made an appearance on the high-profile fundraiser in 2022, where she stole the spotlight in the Atelier Versace dress and since then, she hasn’t returned to it.

Initially the dress was a shiny, shimmering bronze column gown with a flowing rose-gold train, which she paired with matching opera gloves.

In the midst of the red carpet walk, Blake stunned everyone after the rose-gold train was dropped, revealing a gorgeous and striking shade of aquamarine. The drastic transformation of her dress was meant to mimic and symbolise the process of oxidation of New York’s landscapes, especially The Statue of Liberty, which was embodied perfectly by the actress. 

The A Simple Favour actress hasn’t returned to the event since 2022 and it appears that her husband Ryan Reynolds will also be missing out on this year’s Met Gala, according to TMZ.

Before speculation of their absence from the fundraiser could be tied to their ongoing legal battle with actor and director of It Ends With Us  Justin Baldoni, the outlet reported, in March 2025, that their decision for not attending had nothing to do with the lawsuit.
