Pete Davidson opens up about becoming dad for first time

Pete Davidson has recently opened up about embarking on the journey of fatherhood after his girlfriend, Elsie Hewitt, revealed that she’s pregnant with their first child.

In a candid conversation with E! News at the NYC premiere of The Home on Tuesday, July 22, the 31-year-old American comedian and actor shared that he’s feeling deeply grateful about the news.

He said, "I’m very lucky and very, very happy."

The King of Staten Island actor went on to reveal that he’s looking forward to "being able to take care of something and show it the childhood I didn’t have. I assume you just try to give them what you didn’t have, and what you didn’t like, not do it."

Elsewhere in the interview, Davidson also mentioned that he's been getting parenting advice from friends in the entertainment industry, including Adam Sandler, who has been very supportive toward him.

"Everybody’s just been super excited for me, because they know it’s been my dream," the Saturday Night Live alum stated.

"They all just have been like, 'You’re going to be great at this. It’s the best thing you’ll ever do in your life,'"  Davidson said, adding, "Sandler gave me some great advice."

He concluded on a sweet note, remarking, "It’s been really nice that everyone’s super excited. When you do something, when we do anything, you want everyone to be excited, especially having a child."

It is worth noting that Pete Davidson and Elsie Hewitt, who began dating in March of this year, announced the news of their baby on Instagram last week, on July 16.
