Jimmy Kimmel breaks silence on Donald Trump's threats to cancel his show

Jimmy Kimmel has finally responded to the ongoing threats made by U.S. President, Donald Trump, who has repeatedly suggested cancelling his show.

Taking to his Instagram handle on Tuesday, July 22, the 57-year-old television host broke his silence on the president’s harsh comments.

"The word is, and it’s a strong word at that, Jimmy Kimmel is NEXT to go in the untalented late night sweepstakes and, shortly thereafter, Fallon will be gone," Trump wrote on Truth Social.

He further added, "These are people with absolutely no talent, who were paid millions of dollars for, in all cases, destroying what used to be great television."

"It’s really good to see them go, and I hope I played a major part in it!" Trump concluded.

Kimmel was quick to respond to the remarks, saying, "I’m hearing you’re next. Or maybe it’s just another wonderful secret."

This shocking update comes after CBS announced it will cancel The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, which had run for 10 years.

The network cited a "financial decision" rather than any issues with ratings or show content.

However, many believe that the sudden cancellation was politically motivated, rather than financially driven.
