Benedict Cumberbatch recently called out Hollywood by sharing his "horrific" diet during the time he prepared for the renowned Marvel film, Doctor Strange.

While speaking on the podcast Ruthie's Table 4, the 49-year-old actor shared that eating beyond your appetite isn't an easy task.

The Sherlock Holmes actor revealed that he was asked to follow a strict diet, which for him wasn't just physically unhealthy but ethically wrong as well.

Cumberbatch detailed being prescribed "to have five meals, a couple of boiled eggs between those five meals or some kind of high protein snack, cheese and crackers or almond butter and crackers. Crackers. Lots of crackers."

"For me the exercise is great and the end result is that you feel strong and you feel confident. You hold yourself better, you have stamina through the exercise and the food that makes you last through the gig," the Eric performer stated.

However, his diet made him realise that the food he was overconsuming could be more than enough to "feed a family."

In regard to his upcoming projects, The Roses, starring Benedict Cumberbatch, is set to be released on August 29, 2025.
