The heavy metal legend Ozzy Osbourne passed away on Tuesday morning, at the age of 76.

Following his death and amid an outpouring of tributes from all sides, fans eagerly awaited his long-term spouse, Sharon Osbourne’s response.

Now, the TV personality and music manager has addressed her husband’s demise, as sources close to her have told the Daily Express, “Sharon is heartbroken. She knew this day would come but it’s still a huge shock.”

It was further reported that the 72-year-old former X Factor judge is currently mourning the loss of “her best friend.”

“Ozzy was the love of her life and she is simply heartbroken that she has lost her best friend,” the insiders shared.

Earlier, news of Ozzy Osbourne’s death was delivered by Sharon Osbourne and her three children with the music icon, as well as her step-son.

“It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning,” the joint statement began.

Concluding with sign offs from Sharon and her three children, Kelly Osbourne, Jack Osbourne, and Aimee Osbourne, the statement also included Louis Osborne’s name.

“He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time. Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and Louis,” the Osbourne family shared.
