ITV is set to release a documentary based on Matthew Perry’s troubled life, specifically the final chapter leading to his untimely demise.

Matthew Perry: A Hollywood Tragedy will premiere in the UK on August 18, as reports emerged that the doctor involved in the late actor’s death has pleaded guilty.

The UK release of the television programme comes a year after it originally debuted in the US earlier this year, via the streaming platform Peacock.

It went on to become one of the streamer’s most viewed shows the week that it was released, making the top 10 list.

Previously, the ongoing criminal case of the Friends alum’s death resulted in a doctor, one of the five people charged, pleading guilty on Wednesday.

Dr. Salvador Plasencia admitted to the distribution of ketamine which became the cause for Perry’s death.

Moreover, his autopsy ruled the death was caused by “acute effects of ketamine.

The doctor’s attorney told the Associated Press, “Dr. Plasencia is profoundly remorseful for the treatment decisions he made while providing ketamine to Matthew Perry.”

It was further stated that the guilty party is set to lose his medical license as he “intends” to “voluntarily” surrender it.

Meanwhile, Matthew Perry tragically passed away in October 2023, aged 54.
