Freddie Prinze Jr. reveals who's actually behind Matthew Lillard's success

I Know What You Did Last Summer star Freddie Prinze Jr. didn’t hesitate to claim he had a bigger role to play in Matthew Lillard’s success than he is given credit for.

While taking part in the Men's Health "Stress Test" video, released on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, the 49-year-old star opened up about which one of his projects was the most stressful for him.

In the video, he made a candid remark about his Scooby-Doo live action movies co-star upon seeing the 55-year-old actor, who played Shaggy Rogers in the live action movies, in the clip he was reacting to. 

Freddie, who portrayed Fred Jones, jokingly quipped that while Matthew never put pressure on or stressed him out, but he played a significant part in getting him work in the industry and maybe a thank you was in order.

"Matthew doesn’t cause me stress, but I did give him a lot of work, and he should thank me," he playfully stated.

He also went on to discuss one of his most beloved roles by fans, Zack Siler in 1999’s She’s All That, another project in which both Matthew and Freddie worked on together.

"This was the first movie I was ever offered, so the stress levels were very, very low, but in every other movie I was in before this, I was convinced that I would be fired," he shared.

"This was the first time that I was ever relaxed. This was actually the least stressful of all the movies that I did, and was the most enjoyable."
