Kate Hudson opened up about her secret disorder on the Change Your Brain Every Day podcast, saying that she has been living with undiagnosed attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, commonly known as ADHD.

According to the Cleveland Clinic, it’s a neurodevelopmental disorder, which means it affects how your brain develops. It causes symptoms like difficulty focusing, trouble sitting still, and impulsive behaviors.

Joined by her brother Oliver Hudson, who also has ADHD, the Almost Famous star discussed how her “inefficient brain” affects her life.

When asked how things might differ with a “more efficient brain,” Hudson jokingly said, “I’d probably be a billionaire!”

She explained that Activity Disorder makes it hard to finish projects, noting it took until her 40s to release her first album due to fear and distraction.

Dr. Daniel Amen, who analyzed Hudson’s brain scans, confirmed her ADHD diagnosis, saying her brain could improve significantly with time and effort.

Despite her challenges, Hudson has built an $80 million empire. She believes a “leaner” mind would help her complete tasks and create more.

Hudson also shared her close bond with Oliver, telling People that siblings “know each other better than anyone.”

She’s recently reconnected with other siblings from her father Bill Hudson’s side, describing an emotional call with her sister.
