In a surprising move, a new AI-themed film is set to explore the dramatic events surrounding the tech billionaire Elon Musk’s involvement with OpenAI and the chaos that unfolded within the company in late 2023.

Titled Artificial, this AI-based film will be directed by acclaimed Italian filmmaker Luca Guadagnino and is being described as a comedic drama set in the high-stakes world of artificial intelligence (AI).

The film is reportedly inspired by the real-life events at OpenAI, particularly the shocking firing and swift rehiring of CEO Sam Altman during the Thanksgiving holiday in 2023.

That brief but intense corporate shake-up captured global media attention and raised questions about the future of AI governance and corporate leadership.

According to Variety, American actor and comedian Ike Barinholtz is rumoured to portray Elon Musk in the upcoming film.

The movie also features a star-studded cast, including Andrew Garfield, Monica Barbaro, and Cooper Koch.

Garfield is expected to take on the role of Sam Altman, while Russian actor Fedya Borisov will reportedly portray Ilya Sutskever, the OpenAI co-founder who played a central role in the attempted ousting of Altman.

Meanwhile, Monica Barbaro is in talks to portray OpenAI’s chief technology officer (CTO), Mira Murati. However, the role of Cooper Koch remains undisclosed.
